April Sketch

Hey Everyone,
Mary Pat here with you today to bring you this month's sketch.
This sketch has lots of paper layers.  If you are a paper lover this sketch is for you!

Here is my take:
I layered my cardstock and my pattern paper on this card and I made it look like a postage stamp.  For my digi image I used Candle Cupcake!  To top things off I added some twine!

I hope you enjoyed the sketch.  We would love to see you use it and post your work to our Facebook page!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Embroidered Love Birds

Hello everyone! Ria here today.

I'm so excited to share this craft project today using the Love Birds from Orange Bird Studios from The Stamping Shack.

I found the outlined image perfect for an embroidered piece. One good thing about digistamp is that you can resize the image you want and work within that preferred size to create a crafted project.

To transfer the image into the  fabric, you can use the printing technique I shown in a previous tutorial, digistamp printing on fabric or you can also trace the printed image in an onion skin paper shown in the photo below.

The traced image in the thin paper served a guide for you to embroider the image. Mine was done in a small scale size, frame size is only 4x6", with a matt it was reduced to 3 1/4 x 4 3/4". I got the frame from Ikea but you can use other type of frames as you wish. I just find this white frame compliments the needlework piece I did here.

There are many other things we can do for digistamp, we just need to try some other medium where it can also work. Embroidery is one of them.

So here it is..

Teenager's Room Door Hanger

Happy Sunday everyone.  It's Chris here back with another fun and easy project.  This time I made Door Hanger for a Teenage Girls room.  This will be my niece's birthday gift next month.  Now on with the project.

Supplies:
Foam Board - cut to 4 x 9
Ruler
Circle Cutter
Color Pencils
Embellishments
Printed Digi
Card Stock of your choosing
Foam dots
Liquid Glue
Die, for sentiment
Blade
Nail file, large one

1. Print and color your digi with color pencils or what ever coloring item you choose.  I used color pencils. The image I chose is from the Stamping Shack store and is called " Chatty Girl" from the Lilliputs Range and  can be found here.  Color and put aside.

2. You should have a 4 x 9 piece of foam board ready to have a 2 3/4 in circle cut in the top about 1 inch down.  I filed the inside of circle with large nail file to soften inside edges a bit.

3. Now cover with your choice of card stock.  I used a pretty yellow from Bazzill. Glue to foam board and be sure to cut whole nice and even. make sure to leave enough paper to fold over the side edges and glue down. Or you can add some ribbon or lace to edges. I just stuck with paper.

4.  At this point all you need to do is place your digi where you want it.  Then die cut your sentiment and attach.  Then add any embellishments you like.  I added flowers from recollection and some bling centers, plus some rhinestones.  And here is the finished project.

You could also decorate the other side too, any way you like and make it 2 sided.  Hope you enjoyed this and have a fun Sunday.   Do stop by often as all the DT members put up some wonderful projects too.

Until next time........
    Happy Sunday

Bloom!

Hello, Sandy  here today with a fun Easter or Spring tag that you can hang on a gift basket or bouquet of flowers that's quick and easy to make!

First, select a cute digi image like this adorable bunny from The Stamping Shack called "Flower Bunny".   I colored her up with my Copic Markers and cut out the image  and a peachy pink piece of cardstock for a mat with a Spellbinder's die.  In this photo I was trying to decide if I wanted to use any printed papers with the tag.

I used a large Tim Holtz manila tag and inked it with Distress Ink.  I used "Peacock Feathers" which is a lovely spring color.

Next, I took an acrylic flower stamp and the "Peacock Feathers" Distress Ink and lightly stamped flowers randomly all over the tag.  At this point, I wasn't sure of my design and how much the stamped flowers on the tag would show up so I stamped them over the entire tag.  I used a "stamping off" technique where you get the ink on your stamp, stamp it on scrap paper or paper pad and then stamp it on the tag to give it a lighter image.

I decided that I wanted to add in some green to the tag to go with the grass, spring colors.  I cut another larger mat out of  green cardstock with the Spellbinder die and matted the image to both the green and the pink mats.

I cut the bottom of the tag to make it look like a ribbon or banner and also matted it with a light purple cardstock and cut the banner "V" on the mat.

This is how I cut banners.  I'm using a scrap of yellow cardstock (it was not used in this project--it's just a sample of how I cut banners).

First, I make one straight cut up the center and stop where I want the "V" to be.

Then I make one cut from the right bottom point up to the end of the straight cut I just made.

Lastly, I make one cut from the left bottom point up to the end of the straight cut to meet the other angled cut.  Then I have a perfect "V" for my banner.

Attach the matted image to the tag using tape runner, it's okay that it hangs off the sides a bit.

I use Scotch Quik-Dry Adhesive to attach flowers to the tag.

Arrange them on the left side and toward the middle.  I used a pretty teal flower that had pretty pearls in the center and two light pink flower that I added teal colored rhinestone brads to the centers. Behind the flowers I attached two light green flowers to add more color.

Add green tulle and pretty pink Hug Snug Seam Binding ribbon and tie into a bow.

As you can see not much of the stamped image shows but there is still enough to make it pretty and I didn't use up any of my printed designer papers!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope this helps you to make quick but pretty tags for your Easter and Springtime gifts.  If you'd like, visit my blog at www.sandyscraftycreations.blogspot.com.

Easter Egg Holder

Hello, All...
It's Dewi back again with an Easter project that we can do with the kids at home, school or church.
These Easter egg holders made from left over papers from my projects before. So always keep your left over paper that still wide enough.

First, gather all the supplies you need and the Easter themed image from The Stamping Shack, I use Daisy with Bunny and Hoppy Easter. The circle dies diameter is 4,5cm or fit with the egg you will use. Cut the left over patterned paper 4x15 cm

Second, punch the other edge of the paper with your favorite edger puncher, and scored the other 0,5cm from the edge

Third, fringed cut the scored edge

Fourth, apply on the circle you have die cut with strong glue, then decorated as you like

Recipe
Image: Daisy with Bunny and Hoppy Easter
Coloring: Copic Marker and Faber Castell Classic Color Pencil
Sentiment: Forever Friends, stamped with Memento Lilac Posies and Rich Cocoa
Left over Cardstock and Patterned Paper
Dies: Circle and Oval Tag from Lifestyle Crafts
Puncher: Martha Stewart Pop Up Butterfly and Doily Lace
Embelishment: Rhinestone, Pearl Chain, Fabric Flower, Ribbon

Have a good time with the kids making this project..
Come back often for more inspirations from my fabulous DT fellas
